Daisycutter Dual
This 35W Daisycutter Dual is somewhat related to the Atticus but it has separate inputs vs channel switching. Sourmash head cab. There are a pair of EL34’s in the output stage and are run conservatively which leads to a long, long life. H channel is my high gain 4 stage OD Daisycutter channel, related to the Asheville but does not use a cold clipper. The L channel is my Corona (Blackface/Twin). It has a loop with a level that will not overdrive 9V pedals.
Sluggo 50
Sluggo is a 50 watt EL34 amp and is somewhat related to the Atticus. A channel switcher and relays are not in the signal path when the channel is selected. Was a custom build. The H channel is my high gain 4 stage OD Daisycutter channel, related to the Asheville but does not use a cold clipper. The L channel is my Corona (Blackface/Twin). It has a loop with a level that will not overdrive 9V pedals.
Continuum
A custom build with a 2 Rock John Mayer as the basis. An amp more in the clean territory and has a loop. Pair of 6L6’s in the output section for about 35W. Customer was sourcing his own head cab. I don’t really like the hanging orientation as heat can build up. Variable negative feedback.
Dirty Jackpot
Another custom build, the Dirty Jackpot is really very impressive! Output tubes are a pair of EL84’s connected in TRIODE and results in about 7W output. This has a footswitchable boost and the core of the circuit is my AFD which is a high gain hot rodded M style circuit (it is superb!). Proper heater voltage, proper loop level.
Pasadena 50W
EVH’s hometown. This is one of the Pasadena’s I did with EL34’s. Has a loop. It sounds better and is more versatile than the Friedman Custom Small Box it is sitting on. I know the Friedman circuit well, not anything earth-shattering.
Kodiak 4 x KT88
This thing is big and heavy lol. 4 x KT88 in output section. DNA is from an Orange AD200
Jackpot 7W
A custom build and another example of triode connected EL84’s, resulting in about 7 watts. 2 channel, separate inputs. The Z input is a Z-wreck/AC30 input and the R input in my Riggs circuit which is a slightly modified Corona. There is a loop on this one too.
Jomama
Another custom build and related to the Atticus. A 35W channel switcher. There is a pair of EL34’s in the output stage and are run very conservatively so they should last for many years. OD high gain channel and pristine clean channel (F-based).
Bluesbender
The Bluesbender was a custom build and is essentially a Pasadena but with a JTM/Bassman type tonestack. 18W from a pair of EL84’s. Proper amount of feedback applied. No loop on this one.
JT Special
A custom build. This is a 50 watt EL34 amp and is essentially a Pasadena. This one has footswitchable boost – it is adjustable and there is an LED on when it is engaged. Yes, it has a loop too. I have the word “SUPERB” written in large letters on the schematic.
Eruption
Here is another custom build and the customer was sourcing the head cab. This is a single-ended amp with an EL34 in the output section and is about 11W power output. Main circuit is the Pasadena (hometown of EVH) and this amp also has a loop.
Galamad 33
The Galamad was a custom build and is somewhat related to the Atticus. It has separate inputs vs channel switching. Customer was sourcing the head cab. There are a pair of 6L6’s in the output stage and are run conservatively which leads to a long long life. H channel is my high gain 4 stage OD channel, related to the Asheville but does not use a cold clipper. The L channel is my Corona (Blackface/Twin). It has a loop with a level that will not overdrive 9V pedals.
Duophonic 22
This Duophonic is somewhat related to the Atticus but it has separate inputs vs channel switching. There are a pair of 6V6’s in the output stage and are run conservatively which leads to a long long life. H channel is my high gain 4 stage OD channel, related to the Asheville but does not use a cold clipper. The L channel is my Corona (Blackface/Twin). It has a loop with a level that will not overdrive 9V pedals
Duophonic 22
Another example of an early Atticus but with separate inputs vs channel switching. There are a pair of 6V6’s in the output stage. H channel is my high gain 4 stage OD channel, related to the Asheville but does not use a cold clipper. The L channel is my Corona (Blackface/Twin). It has a loop with a level that will not overdrive 9V pedals. Critical signal path is point to point.
Power Train 40
This one with a Sourmash head cab. We have at least 3 Friedman amps hanging around and this Power Train gets it’s DNA from the Pink Taco but with EL34’s (run a bit conservatively). The Custom Small Box was also used as a reference. Has a loop. Like the Reuben Kincaid, this is hot rodded M style sound all the way.
