The M800+ has been one of my most popular models over the past year.  What is heart of the M800+?  JCM.  And then some.

The Pasadena, SIBLY, and M50X, should all be considered precursors to the M800+

The M800+ is truly world class.  What are the output stage options? You can have:

These 2 below are going to be the most popular:
Pair of EL84’s for about 20W

Pair of EL34’s for about 25W (lower B+)

Also:
Pair of 6V6’s for about 20W
Pair of EL34’s for about 40W (medium B+)
Pair of EL34’s for 50W+ (higher B+)
4XEL34’s for about 100W –  is is the Doxy pictured above which was a custom build.

Have not done any M800+ amps with 6L6’s but I am sure they would work well.

The core tone IMO should be Push-Pull fixed bias – but with whichever power output you desire.  Most EL84 amps are cathode bias – well fixed bias is BETTER, saves the tubes and is more punchy sounding.

The 3 position switch allows you to go from a spanky clean (fantastic with single coils)  to Friedman-esque gain levels (I know the Friedman amps well).  You can see from the plot response of positions 1, 2, and 3 there is total gain jump of about 18db available.  The 3 position switch offers much better control of both the gain AND the frequency reponse.  All the positions are extremely useful.  ALMOST as much gain as the Crocodile in the 3 setting.  If the Croc is 10 on the gain level, then the M800+ is a 9.2.

Effects loop is now standard.

And keep in mind 20-25W is LOUD ENOUGH TO GIG WITH!

35W M800+ SOLD BUT I CAN BUILD ANOTHER

35W from a quad of EL84’s.  US$899  plus shipping.  Superb clean tones with the gains back and master up.  The crunch is awesome in mid gain area, and wonderful modded M tones with gains up.  Better than a Friedman Pink Taco.  High gain tones ARE in this amp, akin to a SLO100.  Gorgeous!  Yes it has a loop.

A SPECIAL CANADIAN DEAL!!

40W M800+

This one has a pair of EL34’s for 40W.  US$799.

18W M800+

18W from a pair of EL84’s.  US$795  plus shipping.  Superb clean tones with the gains back and master up.  The crunch is awesome in mid gain area, and wonderful modded M tones with gains up.  Better than a Friedman Pink Taco.  Gorgeous!

SOLD!

But I can build another.  25W from a pair of EL34’s.  US$799  plus shipping.  Superb clean tones with the gains back and master up.  The crunch is awesome in mid gain area, and wonderful modded M tones with gains up.  We have a Friedman Small Box Custom here but would choose this M800+.  This one has a loop and a post phase inverter master volume in addition to the regular master volume.  8 and 16 ohm speaker connections.  EL34’s will last forever as they are run very conservatively.

From the buyer “After receiving my new 24 watt M800, I can without a doubt say this amp is badass! It is super versatile and can achieve a handful of different marshall tones. The build quality is far better than buying from a big name manufacturer and the ability to personalize it with Randy only makes it cooler. I would recommend Phaez amps to anyone who is in the market for a new amp”

20W M800+  6V6’s

Latest as of Dec 2025.  This was an amp I built for stock, although I could be happy with this thing for the rest of my days.  Has clean Marshall-y tones in the 1 position,  think PLEX and JTM, and 3 is ultra modded Marshall tones.  And #2 position is sonically right in the middle.  I would take this over any Friedman.  Has a loop.  A great price on this one.  Has JJ 6V6S output tubes.
