There will be a limited run of the 100W Croc.   This amp will be the be-all, end-all.  Much cheaper than a Friedman BE100, Bogner XTC, Soldano SLO100, or various Marshall 100W offerings.

L channel will be Plexi/Superlead/1959.  Superb Hammond 100W M iron.   The first one will be available for US$875 excluding head cab and tubes.  And after the first one the price will be going up.  This all-singing, all-dancing guitar amp will be available starting in June 2025.  I have a 75W 4X6L6 version to do first though.

The stock L channel is Plexi/Superlead/1959 but it can be something else:  Twin, Bassman/JTM spring to mind.

I will have some options for a head cab.

If you want to be the FIRST for the 100W Croc hit the deposit button.

Crocodile 40W 6L6

1 input, 2 channels, loop.

H channel is my latest and greatest and is very high gain.  It is FUN to play I tells ya.  The Croc H is a fantastic destination of what I’ve learned over many, many years.  State of the art.  L channel is Plexi/Superlead/1959 (but tweaked) 40W 6L6 version. SALE US$799 Special price. Email me if you are Canadian and want to pay in C$.

This version has 6L6’s and is AVAILABLE.

I plan on doing more “chassis only” amps and the Crocodile/Caiman are available as a custom build with your choice of faceplate colour and maybe a custom name.  The “chassis only” version the Caiman will include the amp (fully tested), a pair of EL34 OR 6L6 output tubes, the mounting screws, and a Phaez nameplate.  The price?  US$649.  Again I have to stress that this is going to be an important part of the Phaez lineup.  Super clean Marshall 1959 tones (but better), and gain is in the area of a SLO100 (but BETTER).  HAS A LOOP.

If you have some 12AX7’s and are capable of building a head cab, you can a “LIFETIME” amp for a very reasonable price.

This review for the 2025 Crocodile (40W EL34 version):

“Hi Randy. H channel is GENIUS!! You have something REALLY special here. HUGE TONES!! SO ADDICTIVE!! Such a joy to play, always leaves a big grin on my face which I haven’t felt in a long time. Notes are warm, thick and jump off the fretboard with harmonically rich complex overtones and by far the most sustain I’ve ever come across, ALL WITH UNCANNY low noise floor and NO FEEDBACK AT ALL MEANING THATS WITHOUT A NOISE SUPPRESSOR which I’ve never seen before!! I like to think I’m somewhat of an authority on high gain amps bc I have a lot of them. This has THE MOST gain I have ever come across BUT IT’S ALL USABLE. Hard to dial in a bad sound. Setting the gain even at 3:00😬,  the low end SOMEHOW stays nice and tight and with the guitar volume I can go anywhere from Metallica , 80s hair metal, rock, and classic rockala EVH, AC/DC, ZEP etc”

25W Caiman

1 input, 2 channels, loop.  F channel is my Corona/Blackface tried and true bouncy clean channel.  M Channel is my latest mid/high and is built on what I’ve learned over many many years.  M channel is based on the Crocodile but is dialed back just a hair – getting more in the modded Marshall/Friedman area.  SUPER RESPONSIVE.  25W EL34’s.  Email me if you are Canadian and want to pay in C$.

In summary a few small differences:

  1. 25W output stage for the Caiman vs 40W for the Crocodile.

2. Fender Twin (Corona) L channel vs 1959/Plexi fo the Croc.

3.  Blendable channels, vs a switch on the Crocodile to change channels.

25W Caiman

1 input, 2 channels, loop.  F channel is my Corona/Blackface tried and true bouncy clean channel.  M channel is based on the Crocodile and it is fabulous!  Channels complement each other nicely.  State of the art. 25W from a pair of EL34’s.  This one is “chassis only”, but includes EL34’s. US$675 incl ship.   New as of June 2025.

re Caiman:  “Hey Randy,

I got the amp last week and a new cab yesterday. So, got the chance to really sink my teeth into it all day. While I’m no expert – I’ve used Spark modeling amps and a few Traynor, Fender and the Hughes and Kettner TM20DH
head – this thing gives me what I hoped it would and more! The Fender cleans with EL34 are spanky, chimey and still full of thrust. It’s so much more touch sensitive that the HK TM20DH’s clean channel (which is It’s good channel IMO). Note definition on my neck pickups on the LP are way better and strat sounds perfect in any position. Best I’ve ever heard the bridge on anything! Also the Marshall channel blew away everyone that heard it. I liked it in person at your place and was surprised as I’m not a huge Marshall fan (or wasn’t based on previous copies of the circuit or modelling) but playing through the LP and Strat at home blended through full M channel on all range of gain is a blast. I can tell this will cover my bases for bluesy fuzz/alt/rock/indie better than any two amps I could get for any price. I could/can reduce my pedal board to just fuzz and OD”

40W Crocodile THIS ONE IS SOLD

Pair of EL34’s in output stage.  But if you want one LET ME KNOW.

In summary a few small differences:

  1. 25W output stage for this AFD with a pair of EL34’s
  2. 2.  It is a channel switcher.
  3. 3.  Bright control offers a bit more shaping.
  4. 4.  L channel is Plexi/Superlead/1959

AFD 25

Appetite For Destruction.  I have built many AFD amps in the past but the new one is a major step forward.  The H channel is based on the Crocodile, but is voiced a bit brighter.  When you listen to Sweet Child O’ Mine, and Slash on the neck pickup with the tone control rolled down you KNOW his amp (well actually SIR’s amp)  was bright!  Email me if you are Canadian and want to pay in C$.

25W from a pair of EL34’s is standard, but other output stage are available.

“Chassis only” version available.  Your choice of faceplate colour,

Pricing very fair, contact me.
