M87X 50W
This is the classic M style 1987 circuit but with an added master volume. 50W from a pair of EL34’s. Keep in mind a Plexi/1959/1987 amp does not have a ton of gain! EVH CRANKED his 1959. However, the master volume does make it a little more usable. I would probably add a bright control on a future build. And only 1 input could certainly be an option.

Duophonic 22
Duophonic 22
Distressed pine cab. 2 channel, H is the Daisycutter (superb overdrive) and L is the Corona (F-style cleans). Separate inputs, no loop. 22W from a pair of 6V6’s. As with all my amps, heater voltage is tweaked (many amps could use that!) and is floating about 40VDC above ground to make it quieter. The main audio path is point-to-point and components are placed in the best possible position.
JukeJoint Deluxe 22
Pair of EL34’s in the output stage run conervatively (tubes should for at least 10 years). Approx 35W output. Pasadena and Corona channel switcher. 8 and 16 ohm speaker connections. As with most of my amps, there are separate bias pots for each tube, so you can balance the DC in the output transformer (very important). This JJD offers classic M sound, hot rodded M sound, and F style cleans. Wonderfully versatile. Was a custom build.
Jube 35
Another example of the 2 channel Jube, and the OD circuit is based on the M 2555X. But IMO, the actual M circuit is a bit kludgy so I cleaned it up a bit. Uses the M-style LED clipping system, but you can dial that back and go for modded Marshall approach if you prefer. Super versatile from mid crunch to high gain. Has a loop with the proper signal level. Customer sourced his own head cab
Asheville 50
The Asheville will be one of the Phaez core amps for the foreseeable future. I have many! DNA from a SLO100 but is actually better IMO as I went through a ton of small tweaks. Adding the bright control and the 3 position second gain control is very very useful. This is a 50W version with a pair of EL34’s in the output section.
Duophonic KT66
This is a Daisycutter OD channel plus Corona clean channel. Not a channel switcher but separate inputs. This amp had a pair of Tung Sol KT66’s in the output section for about 35W. All the amp you could ever need. Loop included. Customer sourced the head cab.
Jube 22
This is a single channel Jube from 2018. 22W from a pair of 6V6’s. The circuit DNA is from the M 2555X. But IMO, the actual M circuit is a bit kludgy so I cleaned it up a bit. Uses the M-style LED clipping system, but you can dial that back and go for modded Marshall approach if you prefer. Super high gain amp. Has a loop with the proper signal level.
Irwin 45
Based on the M JAY TEE EM 45, but with added master volume and SS rectification. Amp uses KT66’s, although the pic shows 6L6’s (was just waiting for the KT66’s to come in). Was a custom build and he loved it! HE sourced his own head cab.
Atticus 62
OD and clean channel switcher. H is my 4 gain stage rich high gain OD section and L is Corona (Blackface/Twin). 4 x 6L6 with light loading, power output about 62W, 3 x 12AX7 and 1 x 12AT7 for the phase inverter. Loop included, level is very pedal friendly, I have seen many amps that will overload common 9V pedals. There are separate bias pots so you can balance the DC in the output transformer. DC imbalance is bad IMO, a little AC imbalance – no problem!
Pasadena 36
From 2019. Pasadena is the hometown of EVH and the best tube choice that captures the essence of Van Halen’s first album are EL84’s in fixed bias in my not so humble opinion. And this one is has 4 x EL84. I would probably add a bright control and presence on future builds. Better than a Friedman Pink Taco (we have one). Has a loop with proper signal level.
Triple Classic 18W
This one has pretty much all tones covered. F channel is classic Blackface/Twin, V channel is based on the AC30 and the M channel is my SIBLY. Separate inputs and tonestacks for each. 18W from a pair of EL84’s. It even has a loop. As with all my amps the PROPER AMOUNT of feedback is applied, proper meaning TWEAKED BY EAR.
Daisycutter 27
Pair of 6L6’s in this one. Daisycutter is a OD+Clean channel switcher and has a pair of EL34’s in the output stage. H channel is my extremely tweaked hi gain channel and the L channel is more Plexi-like. 8 and 16 ohm speaker connections. As per all my amps, the heater voltage is tweaked and floats at +40VDC above ground for low noise.
Duophonic 22
