The Blackwater will be a staple in the Phaez lineup for the foreseeable future.
This is a pedal platform but much more!
One of things that make this amp special is the overall gain structure. With a high output humbucker, such as a Dimarzio Tone Zone which I used quite a bit, the amp will stay chimey clean. However, as soon as the signal exceeds that of a high output pickup, the amp starts providing clipping and saturation. So a clean boost will provide some real nice amp clipping, and an overdrive/distortion is glorious. I was just experimenting with a Carl Martin plexitone – outstanding!
2 x EL34 with light loading, power output about 40W
The 6 position tone control offers incredible flexibility.
Depth (aka Resonance) control added. Does to the low end what presence does to the high end.
8 and 16 ohm speaker connections.
“Chimey, just gorgeous. Maybe the best chimey cleans I have ever heard! I build the first one a couple of years ago and this from the owner of that one: “I thought you would be pleased to know that your amp just beat out a 1983 Hiwatt DR103 in an amp shootout”
Here is from another owner (May ’23 version) “Just got mine this week and I love it!! This will be my main gigging and recording amp for years to come for sure”
This one is priced at a very reasonable US$775 or CDN$1029, includes tubes and head cab. Shipping a bit extra.
I did put up a quick and dirty clip on FB (Feb 6/24).

Main signal is point-to-point and components are in the best possible position. I’ve been doing this a LONG time.
Even though I am based in Ontario, Canada I never had an issue shipping to the US.
If you want to put it on layaway for a couple months, US$200 will hold it.
