A new one: The 800+.

I was very happy with the recent 822 (Pretty much a 2204 but with 6V6’s).  I have done another but with a twist. This circuit is based on the Marshall JCM800 (2203/2204) but it has:

1. 6V6’s in the output stage for about 22W (same as the 822)

2. Very useful bright control

3. Depth (aka Resonance) control added

and most importantly

4. H and HH inputs. H is the standard Marshall H input but HH adds another gain stage in front which can take the amp into hi gain territory. A lot of people don’t realize a stock JCM800 does not have a ton of gain! But with the HH, it screams. The added gain from the HH is 6.9X or 16.8db, and the extreme lows and highs are rolled off, which believe me is beneficial.

This one is priced at a very reasonable US$699 or CDN$899, includes tubes and head cab.  Shipping a bit extra.

Tube complement: 2X6V6, 1 x 12AT7 (Phase Inverter), 3 x 12AX7’s

Main signal is point-to-point and components are in the best possible position.  I’ve been doing this a LONG time.

Even though I am based in Ontario, Canada I never had an issue shipping to the US.
